A Westerner's Perspective on Japan

On the 9th of June in 2004, I took the International Programs in Engineering's (IPENG) Summer Program to Hiroshima, Japan. I spent a total of two months in Japan, with six weeks in Hiroshima, followed by two weeks of travel around the country. My time in Hiroshima was spent at the Hiroshima Institute of Technology (HIT). This is my story, diary, and traveloge of that great trip. This contains lots of perspective, paired with very little rumination, at least after the first date. This will be added to later as more things come into focus after my trip. For those of you who are interested, here is a short budget for my time in Japan.

"Develop intuitive judgement and understanding for everything."
"Perceive those things which cannot be seen."
"Do nothing which is of no use."
